Prepare to integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts into your lesson plans for the P-6 classroom. You will take classes designed to help you teach mathematics, engineering, physics reasoning, and data concepts and skills in the classroom. You will gain experience in how to incorporate STEM concepts into early childhood, elementary and special education classrooms to improve student learning.
Program Highlights
- Upon completion you will be a certified Project Lead the Way teacher
- Special emphasis on effective assessment and instruction for students of all abilities
- Pairs well with a major in elementary education, special education or early childhood education
Program Distinctions
- The STEM Education Collaborative in the College of Science and Engineering specializes in offering STEM Education programs including the STEM Education Graduate Certificate.
- STEM Education programs are accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) and the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).
